Job Description
Critical care doctors care for patients with severe, acute, and complex illnesses or injuries. They specialize in dealing with patients who must be closely watched. To keep up with complicated protocols, critical care doctors are trained. To top it all off, they must also be able to operate high-tech medical devices.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a rule of thumb, patients are brought to the critical care unit because of a catastrophic accident or surgery that has resulted in organ failure. When dealing with life-threatening medical conditions, critical care doctors must be extremely trained. Both physically and mentally, these individuals require regular supervision.
Critical care doctors connect patients and family members. Particularly in times of crisis, this may be a difficult responsibility. On the other hand, ICU doctors are uniquely qualified to provide care, comfort, and support during difficult moments.
