Job Description
As a general medicine specialist, you will be responsible for treating and managing a broad range of medical conditions in adult patients. This includes diagnosing complex health problems, creating personalized treatment plans, prescribing medications, performing procedures, and educating patients. You will lead a team of medical staff to provide high-quality evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and treating chronic and acute illnesses in adult patients including diabetes, hypertension, infections, gastrointestinal issues, arthritis, cancers, etc.
- Conducting thorough physical examinations, ordering tests, and evaluating results to determine the health problem
- Creating personalized treatment plans which may include medications, therapies, interventions, or lifestyle changes
- Performing procedures like drawing blood, administering injections, wound care, IV cannulation, etc.
- Admitting, treating, and discharging patients requiring hospitalization
- Providing critical and emergency care services in the ICU and emergency department
- Leading, collaborating with, and supervising junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff
- Educating patients and family members on care plans, medications, prevention methods, etc.
- Maintaining accurate and timely medical records of patients
Requirements:
- MBBS/MD in Internal Medicine from a reputed institute
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to develop treatment plans
- Experience in managing chronic conditions like asthma, ADHD, autism, diabetes, obesity, etc.
- Experience in diagnosing conditions like infections, fractures, injuries, etc.
- Critical and emergency care experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills to educate families
