Nephrologist Doctors in India

About Nephrologist Doctors

A nephrologist is a medical doctor who specializes in kidney care and the treatment of kidney disease. The word nephrologist comes from the Greek word “nephros,” which means kidney or renal, and “geologist” means a person who reads. Therefore, nephrologists are also called kidney specialists. Nephrologists are trained in internal medicine and receive additional training to focus on treating patients with kidney disease. They usually treat chronic kidney disease (CKD), polycystic kidney disease (PKD), severe kidney failure, kidney stones, and high blood pressure and have been trained in all aspects of kidney transplantation and dialysis.

During this relationship, aspiring Nephrologists learn about:

Glomerular/Vascular Disorders – Glomerular/vascular disorders are glomerular problems or clusters of blood vessels in the kidneys. Kidney doctors are studying treatment options to help delay the progression of these diseases to keep kidney function as long as possible.

Tubular/Interstitial Problems – Tubular/interstitial problems affect the tubules of the kidneys and surrounding tissues. Tubules collect filtered fluid from the kidneys to eventually form urine. Kidney doctors are learning the symptoms and how to treat them.

High Blood Pressure – high blood pressure is another name for high blood pressure and is the second leading cause of kidney disease (ESRD) in the U.S. Kidney doctors are learning about a variety of medications that can lower blood pressure, as well as other ways to lower blood pressure, such as diet and exercise.

Dialysis: Dialysis is a process of cleansing the blood when the kidneys are no longer working. Kidney doctors are studying Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis – two types of dialysis – so that they can compare their patients with dialysis treatments that work for their health and well-being.

Kidney Transplant – Kidney transplant occurs when someone gets another kidney transplant to replace their damaged kidney. Nephrologists study all aspects of kidney transplants to help their patients understand and prepare for the procedure.

Mineral Metabolism – Mineral metabolism disorders occur when there are abnormal amounts of minerals in the blood. Kidneys learn to repair or manage disorders of mineral metabolism to ensure that their patients get the number of minerals they need to grow properly and keep their bodies functioning properly.

Severe Kidney failure – Severe kidney failure occurs when the kidneys suddenly stop working. Sometimes the kidneys can recover from severe kidney failure. Kidney specialists learn to treat all the underlying conditions that cause serious kidney failures, such as kidney stones, infections, or severe blood loss.

Chronic Kidney Disease Management – Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) occurs when the kidneys stop working slowly for a while. There are five stages of CKD, and the last stage is the renal end (end). Kidney doctors learn about the five stages of chronic kidney disease and how to control it to reduce the progression of kidney disease and keep their patients as healthy as possible.

Nutrition: Nutrition plays a major role in reducing kidney disease growth and well-being with kidney failure. Kidney doctors are learning what nutrients kidney patients can and cannot help their patients get the nutrients they need.

Interpretation Of X-Rays, Sonograms, And Other Tests – Some kidney diseases are diagnosed with x-rays, sonograms, and other tests. Kidney doctors are learning to interpret the results of these tests so that they can get an accurate diagnosis.

In addition, most Nephrology relationships require one to two years of clinical or laboratory research, during which each physician becomes a real expert in specific areas of study.

During the relationship, Nephrologists-in-training learns to diagnose and treat kidney disease. They should familiarize themselves with all the surgical procedures associated with dialyzes, such as blood vessels and piping access. They specialize in all types of dialysis treatments such as hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis and learn how to perform kidney transplants, tests in which small kidney tissue is collected under a microscope. Once this has been done, they are eligible for the ABIM examination and petrology.

To specialize in pediatric Nephrology (child care), students must take additional courses to pass another test.

What does a nephrologist do?

A Nephrologist often sees patients referred by their primary care physicians or general practitioners for problems related to the kidneys, high blood pressure, or other types of disorders. For example, if someone feels that they have problems with their kidneys, they may want to be cared for by a nephrologist. When a kidney doctor first meets a patient, he usually looks at the patient’s medical history and develops a complete body.

The Nephrologist will then examine the blood and urine to determine how well the patient’s kidneys are functioning. He may also order an ultrasound of the kidneys. If necessary, the Nephrologist may perform a kidney biopsy to better diagnose kidney failure. However, the Nephrologist is not a surgeon and usually does not perform operations. Treatment of kidney cancer, prostate cancer, and kidney stones is usually treated by a different doctor known as a urologist.

If the Nephrologist finds that the patient’s kidneys are not functioning properly, he will help diagnose the cause and prescribe treatment. If the kidney doctor finds a kidney disease, he or she will do tests to determine which kidney disease the patient is in and arrange the patient’s treatment. The Nephrologist will usually refer the patient to a renal nutritionist, kidney health worker, and kidney nurse who will assist with patient care. If a patient needs dialysis or a kidney transplant, his or her kidney specialist will discuss various forms of dialysis or refer the patient to a transplant center.
Nephrologists usually meet with dialysis patients several times a month with other types of kidney patients every three to three months. When a patient comes in for a check-up, the kidney doctor will check the patient’s health status, address any new problems, evaluate the test results, make changes to the doctor’s dialysis regimen if necessary, and complete or prescribe medication. During a visit, a Nephrologist may also change blood pressure medications and may initiate or adjust treatment for various other problems, such as diabetes, anemia and high cholesterol.

Every Nephrologist has received extensive training in general internal medicine, and many Nephrologists will treat their patients with alternatives to kidney problems. Patients need to tell their kidney doctor if they notice any changes in their lifestyle.
