Job Description

To be a gastroenterologist, one must be able and willing to communicate with others. Endoscopic therapies can be used to diagnose and examine internal organs. They are highly qualified specialists who have extensive knowledge about gastroenterological issues and treatment options.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To diagnose, treat, and manage patients, gastroenterologists use various methods and procedures.
  • An endoscopy is a procedure where a gastroenterologist inspects the inside of the patient’s body using a camera attached via a thin tube called an endoscope.
  • The gastroenterologist must insert a tube through the patient’s rectum instead of the mouth for sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Polypectomy is an operation that removes one or more intestinal polyps. The esophagus can be stretched.
