ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

To be involved in the development of anesthesia and critical-care treatment protocols and guidelines.
To establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other medical specialists and to participate in regular clinical meetings.
To assume responsibility for the professional supervision of anesthesia technicians and doctors in the specialty.
Monitor the patient during and after anesthesia to prevent any adverse reactions or complications. Monitor patient condition during procedures or treatments. During the procedure, record the type and amount of anesthesia used. Keep track of patient medical history.
Prepare patients for emergency surgery and provide life support. Implement advanced life support techniques.
Use local, intravenous, or caudal techniques to administer anesthetics or sedation during medical procedures. To control pain, administer anesthetics and sedatives.
To show a firm involvement with anesthesia care, and performance improvement activities in the operating room. This will include the development of and maintenance of appropriate systems and practices to maintain a safe clinical practice.
The consultant will be responsible for the consultants’ clinical professional development, participation in the annual review, and canter performance.
To share responsibility and practice good data handling practices.
To be held responsible for improving and adhering to infection control practices.
To ensure that medical documentation and charting are done in a professional and legible manner and to supervise documentation by the rest of the team.
Collaborating closely with colleagues
Communicating clearly with patients and colleagues.
To work as part of the team and share administrative responsibilities.
Assisting the division head with administrative tasks as necessary in the care of patients.
