Job Description
Immediate/critical care doctors offer treatment to acutely and critically sick patients in a setting that is highly technical and involves constant monitoring of the patients’ condition. Life-threatening issues and a wide range of medical treatments are required for these individuals. They are also responsible for the emotional and psychological well-being of the patient, his or her family, and other important people in his or her life.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with members of the health care team to analyze, develop, administer, and evaluate patient care plans. Recording prescription medicines that are prepared for oral or intravenous administration as well as those that are administered subcutaneously or intravenously Initiates a patient education plan, as recommended by the physician, and reports adverse responses to drugs or treatments in accordance with the policy governing the administration of pharmaceuticals by a licensed registered doctor. Explains post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise plans, medication administration, and rehabilitation to patients and their loved ones.
