Job Description

Critical care doctors are assigned to the sickest patients in order to give the best possible treatment. Doctors who specialize in critical care are the first choice for patients in medical crises. The goal of critical care nursing is to provide the greatest level of care to critically ill patients in a timely manner, regardless of their severity.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ICU Doctors are typically charged with doing or assisting with important operations such as inserting a central line, monitoring a patient’s neurological status, providing ventilatory support, delivering medicine, and more.
  • Working in the intensive care unit (ICU) is demanding. Care for severely ill or unstable patients is emotionally and physically taxing.
  • A patient’s condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) can rapidly worsen, demanding swift decisions and practically instantaneous intervention.
